Sant Atulanand Residential Academy was established by Dr. Raj Singh in the year 2001. Dr Raj Singh was a dedicated academician and a true visionary. He was inspired by the dream of his Guru ‘Nirvan Pithadhiswar Sri Sri 1008 Maha Mandleshwar Swami Atulanand Ji Maharaj’ who envisioned a school rooted in the ethos of the traditional Indian Gurukul system. Dr. Raj Singh took it as his life’s mission to fulfill his Guru’s dream. He was ably assisted in this pious mission by his erudite and scholarly wife - Mrs. Vidya Singh to educate the children to become a responsible citizen through global education with Indian values.
Located in one of the oldest cities of the world, SARA is an educational institute where science and spirituality are in harmony. And the city of Holy Ganges, Varanasi, provided the perfect setting for this mission. Taking motivation from the traditional Gurukul system, SARA offers boarding facilities to outstation as well as local children. This is done keeping the goal of holistic education in mind.

शिक्षा का उद्देश्य आत्मा की उन्नति है, और विद्यालय अध्ययन केंद्र से बढ़कर चरित्र निर्माण और राष्ट्र निर्माण के केंद्र। विद्यालय एक मानसिक व्यायाम शाला होती है जहां संयम, अनुशासन और सतत प्रयास के मूल्य विद्यार्थियों में आरोपित किए जाते हैं। युवाओं में भविष्य निर्माण का सामर्थ्य और राष्ट्रीय चरित्र को आकार देने की क्षमता होती है परंतु यह परिवर्तन स्वयं से शुरू होता है। सिर्फ विद्यार्थियों का ही नहीं वरन् संपूर्ण शिक्षा जगत का यह ध्येय होना चाहिए कि "हम सुधरेंगे जग सुधरेगा"।आज के युग में डॉक्टर, इंजीनियर या आईएस बनाना यह शिक्षा का व्यावसायिक लक्ष्य हो सकता है, किंतु शिक्षा का नैसर्गिक लक्ष्य एक बेहतर इंसान और राष्ट्र का जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनाना है। हमारी कोशिश वैश्विक मापदंडों पर आधारित आधुनिक वैज्ञानिक और गुणवत्ता परक शिक्षा भारतीय मूल्यों के साथ पिरो कर राष्ट्र के हर सामाजिक, आर्थिक वर्ग तक पहुंचाना है।
मुझे विश्वास है कि यह विद्यालय "मानव मात्र की सेवा" के अपने उच्चतम आदर्श के प्रति सदैव निष्ठावान रहेगा और शिक्षा तथा सेवा के क्षेत्र में नित्य नवीन कीर्तिमान स्थापित करेगा। विद्यार्थियों के लिए भी आवश्यक है कि वह लक्ष्य के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण के साथ सतत प्रयत्नशील रहें। जो पत्थर छेनी हथौड़ी के प्रहार सह नहीं पाते उन्हें देवता बनकर मंदिर में पूजे जाने का अधिकार नहीं होता इसलिए: "मन को बली बना लो इतना, टेक न छोड़े आठो याम । तन को बली बना लो इतना, सहले सर्दी, वर्षा, घाम । कर्म क्षेत्र है यह पृथ्वी तल, व्यर्थ यहां आलस आराम।।" मेरी यही अन्तिम इच्छा है कि सन्त अतुलानंद आवासीय विद्यालय के समस्त छात्र, अध्यापक, कर्मचारी अन्य सभी चिंताओं से परे होकर सिर्फ अपने कर्म की चिंता करें, यही मेरे लिए परम संतोष का आधार होगा। प्रत्येक आने वाला वर्ष आपके लिए ज्ञान और यश के नए सोपान लेकर आए यही मेरी सदिच्छा है|

The education of a human being should begin at birth and continue throughout his life. The first thing to do in order to be able to educate a child is to educate oneself, to become conscious and master of oneself so that one never sets a bad example in front of one’s child. To speak good words and to give wise advice to a child have very little effect if one does not give him an example of what he teaches. Eternal values of sincerity, honesty, straight forwardness, courage, unselfishness, patience, endurance, peace, calm and self control are all things that are taught infinitely better by examples than by beautiful speeches. Those parents or teachers who have high ideals should always showcase these ideals through their own behaviours. Certainly those ideals will reflect in their children.
